Aerial Yoga, Plans, and Metta Prayer

Fun thing: Yesterday I took an awesome class at The Yoga Studio in Campbell. The class was aerial yoga. Now, I tell you with a little sheepishness that I hate yoga. I always want to like it, so I keep on taking classes, and keep on hating it. Can you believe I even had a private yoga lesson with a friend on Wednesday…and I still hated it. Lmao. Anyways, aerial yoga is the closest thing to yoga that I enjoy. I even purchased a package of 5 classes for $50, which is an incredible deal. Long, luxurious strips of fabric hang from the high ceilings. We use the fabric to pull ourselves, push ourselves, SUSPEND ourselves, stand upon high in the air, and so forth! It reminds me of cirque de soleil! It’s great. The fabric pressing onto your body is quite painful, but the teacher explains that the digging in feeling is quite therapeutic (think foam rolling), and that the pain diminishes over time. Okay. I had Pik Chu as my teacher, and I love her positive spirit and melodic suggestions. The first time I went, there was space available, but this time it was a full house! So, you may want to reserve a spot if you are coming after work. I highly recommend aerial yoga if you want to try something new!

Tonight I plan on going to an all female jiu jitsu in San Francisco. I also want to get mah nails done. This weekend my interior decorator and I will be getting crafty and painting the walls and some furniture! Since I moved last week, I really want to set up my nest as well as my “DEN OF ZEN” hehe…okay no I don’t want it to be TOO zen, but just enough 😉 She has some great ideas and I have a feeling I am going to love how it turns out. Saturday I have seven hours of clients in a row first…YIKES!…The sequence will be: my workout, then 7 hours of clients…then PAINT! So…it’s all good stuff 😉 I know it will settle down, there is a lot going on, I am just so blessed! 😉
I think on my wall I want a metta meditation/prayer. Metta means “Loving-Kindness” (or benevolence/amity) in the ancient language of Pali. I first discovered it during my first trip to Thailand, and found it so powerful that I even considered having it tattooed on me. While I was suspended in yoga yesterday, I had a sort of revelation, where I realized I wanted a metta prayer to be present in my room. So while I am thinking about metta, let me share with you a metta prayer that I am making up, based on the traditional format:

May I be happy, healthy, and safe. May I be free from turmoil, and suffering, and live life vibrant, content, with love and compassion, and equanimity. May I love and accept myself completely, with great kindness, just as I am now, no matter what happens.

May you be happy, healthy, and safe. May you be free from turmoil, and suffering, and live life vibrant, content, with love and compassion, and equanimity. May you love and accept yourself completely, with great kindness, just as you are now, no matter what happens.

May we be happy, healthy, and safe. May we be free from turmoil, and suffering, and live life vibrant, content, with love and compassion, and equanimity. May we love and accept ourselves completely, with great kindness, just as we are now, no matter what happens.

May all beings be happy, healthy, and safe. May all beings be free from turmoil, and suffering, and live life vibrant, content, with love and compassion, and equanimity. May all beings love and accept themselves completely, with great kindness, just as they are now, no matter what happens.

With metta,

Kristina
