A few days ago, I felt inspired to visit some trails I used to beat many years ago, when I lived in another city. I was shocked I was still able to find the exact trails I used to frequent! I just kept on driving, waiting for familiar markers, left, right, left, right, making turns, eyes open, trying to figure out where I was going…and ended up at my old trails! It was amazing. The scenery was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. The ground was soft and littered with sand, rocks, branches. Just how I like it. Most of the time I ran by myself, just me and my breathing, jogging and sprinting solo through the forest, elevating and descending, trying to get lost and at the same time make sure I remember which turns I took. Sometimes I would pass by someone walking their dog, and I would feel longing for me to take my pup out along these trails and run run run. When things settle down, maybe I’ll get a dog.
I decided that I would make visiting this trail a habit. I will be moving and will no longer be close to my favorite gym, which has totally spoiled me. The gym by my new place feels highly inadequate, so I decided that instead I will start trail running and visiting different hiking spots and beaches and soak in the sun as the weather warms.
Here are some views from the gorgeous trail from a few days ago.
